#WWDA08 Blending In

The TOOG Area Pack ranges across 125,000Ha in the northern part of the Waterberg. They are vitally important to South Africa's dwindling free-ranging African wild dog population. This photograph was taken by Reilly Mooney, the Project Coordinator for the Waterberg Wild Dog Initiative, in December 2022 while monitoring the pack in the field to check on the status of the 6-month-old pups born earlier in the year. Pictured at the front is Little G, nicknamed for the unique pattern on her thigh, confidently facing the WWDI's vehicle while the rest of the pack stands behind her, blending into the background.
