After seeing countless images over the past couple of weeks of our wildlife in strife, Nicole decided to pay homage to our much loved Koala with this painting. This Koala is in recovery - with handmade colourful bandages covering three out of four of her paws. With up to 1 billion animals lost in these fires, we all need to contribute to their rehabilitation in some way or another.

The name of the artwork is from Mem Fox's children's book 'Koala Lou'

Nicole Black is an artist and illustrator currently making and creating from her studio in Adelaide. Her focus is primarily on watercolour painting but dabbles occasionally in the potential of mixed media, digital and mural paintings.
