Welcome to the Annual Sam Thompson Memorial Foundation's Stallion Service Auction for 2024
The Sam Thompson Memorial Foundation is excited to launch its first online stallion service auction. All money raised will go directly to scholarships for those in our horse racing community. To date we have given over $500,000 in scholarships over the past few years to help those follow their dreams and continue their education. This online stallion service auction provides a great way for horsemen across the nation to acquire breedings for 2024 to some of the greatest stallions.
All stallions donated will be featured on our website, this auction page, and advertised at upcoming foundation events. Links are provided by each horse to their StallionESearch page (if one exists) to help bidders get additional information on each stallion. If one doesn't exist we will do our best to provide the best information possible. Any special or additional information regarding certain breedings can be found on the auction page for each stallion. Please make sure to read all important information. Buyers are responsible to pay for all other expenses (farm fee, chute fee, shipping fees, etc.) that may be charged by the stallion farm.
This year's 2024 stallion service online auction will begin on November 1st, 2023 and end on January 8th, 2024. The highest bidders will be notified, payment will be collected, and the stallion farms will be notified once payment has processed (no more than 48 hours after). All bidding will be done online. There will be a secondary stallion service auction that will occur live at the Heritage Winter Mixed Sale with a different group of select stallions.
Registration and Bidding Information – All bidders will be required to register on the website before placing a bid. This auction requires a credit card to bid, all information will be kept secure and encrypted. Bidders will be notified via email and/or SMS text message when they have been outbid on a breeding and/or won a breeding. Upon the completion of the auction, you will have the option to pay via Credit Card (with a processing fee) or you may contact us within 48 hours to arrange for a wire transfer or check payment (without a processing fee).

Auction terms and conditions
2024 SAM THOMPSON MEMORIAL FOUNDATION’S 2024 ONLINE STALLION SERVICE AUCTION
The proceeds from this stallion auction will be used by the Sam Thompson Memorial Foundation to provide scholarships to those in the horse racing community across the nation.
SAM THOMPSON MEMORIAL FOUNDATION’S STALLION SERVICE PROGRAM CONDITIONS

Stallion services are donated to the Sam Thompson Memorial Foundation and the donated services will be offered for sale through the Sam Thompson Memorial Foundation’s online Stallion Service Auction at www.samthompsonfoundation.org.

As a condition of this contract the stallion owner/donor must agree the following:

Each stallion owner will provide an owners standard breeding contact signed indicating the donated breeding to the winning bidder after their payment has been received and the STMF has notified the farm that it has been processed.

If the stallion is sold or moved to another location anytime during the stallion auction, the donor of the stallion breeding must immediately notify STMF at

The stallion owner may charge the mare owner for normal mare care charges and other applicable fees such as veterinary fees, etc. these fees will be paid by the mare owner.

Once the breeding is sold, The Sam Thompon Memorial Foundation will notify the
stallion farm. The contact person’s name and phone number of the breeding facility will be given to the purchaser. Breeding arrangements will be made between the donor and purchaser. The Sam Thompson Memorial Foundation is not responsible for booking dates or any additional fees associated with the breeding.

STALLION SERVICE AUCTION PROCEDURES

The Auction will begin November 15th , 2023 and continue through January 8th , 2024 ending at noon CST. If two or more people are bidding on the same stallion service within the last ten minutes of the auction closing the bidding will automatically continue in increments of ten minutes until only one person is bidding.

All bids are final, and all bidders accept the rules and regulations before submitting any bid.

Successful bidders will be notified within 24 hours and all payments must be made within 48 hours. Payments can be made via bank transfer (no fee) or via credit card (with a transaction fee).

All stallion services are sold in concurrence with the conditions and procedures of the farm at the farm at which the stallion stands, and the purchaser agrees to abide by these conditions.

The stallion service donor and the farm at which the stallion stands will be contacted by the Sam Thompson Memorial Foundation within 48 hours after the payment is processed with the winning bidder’s name and contact information. Please contact the farm directly to receive the breeding contact and any other information.

The Sam Thompson Memorial Foundation is a facilitator of the auction, and bears no
responsibility or liability once the auction is over and all information has been released. -
All services are for the 2024 breeding season only. Any carryover to future years is at the discretion of the stallion owner.

All services are sold with a Limited Live Foal policy unless otherwise indicated. As these are donated and promotional breeding’s, there is no guarantee of a “live foal”. The term “live foal” means the foal resulting from the breeding stands alone, nurses and lives for 24 hours. Should the mare not produce a “live foal”, the stallion owner will grant the right to the mare owner to rebreed the mare ONLY as long as the stallion is standing at the ranch advertised during the auction and is still living. IF the stallion moves to another ranch, or if the stallion dies prior to the next breeding season, the ranch listed and the stallion owner will have no further responsibility, nor will monies be refunded.

All fees associated with boarding, mare care, cooled or frozen semen, chute fees, farm costs and veterinary costs are between the successful bidder and the stallion owner/ stallion farm.

The Sam Thompson Memorial Foundation assumes no responsibility for any other business conducted between the stallion owner and the successful bidder. It is the responsibility of the service purchaser to make all necessary arrangements with the stallion owner/stallion farm regarding the breeding and the availability of shipped semen.

Any stallion service which does not receive the minimum bid during the auction will be available on a first come first serve basis for the minimum bid until January 31st , 2024.
Dispute Resolution
The parties (a) hereby irrevocably and unconditionally submit to the jurisdiction of the state courts of New Mexico and to the jurisdiction of the United States District Court located in Albuquerque, NM for the purpose of any suit, action or other proceeding arising out of or based upon this Agreement, (b) agree not to commence any suit, action or other proceeding arising out of or based upon this Agreement and (c) hereby waive, and agree not to assert, by way of motion, as a defense, or otherwise, in any such suit, action or proceeding, any claim that it is not subject personally to the jurisdiction of the above-named courts, that its property is exempt or immune from attachment or execution, that the suit, action or proceeding is brought in an inconvenient forum, that the venue of the suit, action or proceeding is improper or that this Agreement or the subject matter hereof may not be enforced in or by such court.
