Portraits of Zubir Said
Three A2-sized oil portraits of Zubir Said were painted by Year 6 Visual Arts student Na Byungha, for the School of the Arts, Singapore (SOTA) fundraising show, Impact 2023. Impact 2023 is inspired by the life and works of the late Zubir Said, the composer of Singapore’s national anthem and other well-loved songs. Byungha wanted her portraits to depict traits of Zubir Said, such as his endearing side as an arts educator, his love for nature and his deep passion for music.
The portraits will be on display outside the SOTA Drama Theatre on Level 2 on 10 November, 7.30pm. Come join us at the fundraising show and view the portraits in person.
Proceeds from the auction will go towards the SOTA Endowment Fund which provides students with bursaries, scholarships and other forms of financial assistance.
