Sambhavna 2.0 + 28
About this item
This painting was inspired by Mrs Bhaskar’s latest works, Sambhavna 2.0 (2017) and 28 (2019) which are performances based on mathematical and quantum physics theories such as the Fibonacci sequence and the entanglement and movement of particles. The background consists of the golden ratio and a physics diagram of an electric field with a positive and negative charge.
Mrs Bhaskar’s gaze in the other portrait in this series Butterfly Lovers looks towards Sambhavna 2.0 + 28 as if looking towards her future self. However, her older self looks directly at the audience as an invitation to engage with her performance. Both of the figure’s arms paint a full circle from the beginning to the end of her journey in choreographing and performing traditional Indian dance infused with other cultures and concepts.
