About the Artist
Sydney artist Jo Tilker experiments with different colour and pattern compositions to create snapshots of a moment through still life. Playing with these elements, and with light, shadow and different subjects, she hopes to evoke memories of these moments: refreshments on a hot summer’s day, a shared aperitif, a tranquil table setting. These are the fleeting moments that are so quickly forgotten in our busy lives, but so needed for introspection and to recharge. Jo works very intuitively, seeking to express a contemporary vision of Australian still life through bright colours, native flora and the occasional drink!
