This is an incredibly special opportunity to get behind the scenes of two Zambian conservation organizations!

The Zambian Carnivore Programme (ZCP) is a non-profit Zambian-registered trust working in close collaboration with the Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW) and is dedicated to conserving large carnivores and the ecosystems they reside in.

Musekese Conservation (MC) is a newly formed organization making resources available to help build the effective capacity of DNPW. The aim being to assist DNPW control the illegal and unsustainable exploitation of Zambia’s wildlife heritage in and around the KNP.

During these two days, we invite you to be based out of Musekese Camp together with a member of ZCP on active duty. Mornings and afternoons will be spent radio tracking any collared carnivores in the area. Guests will be invited to get involved with data collection and any other associated work with animals, as well as to take a trip down to the Musekese Conservation Anti Poaching Unit Base, whilst evenings will provide an opportunity for presentations as well as general campfire chat.

Please note that whilst there are presently collared carnivores in the area as well as an additional collar in store for a wild dog, these animals are wild and the Kafue National Park is vast, so the programme and guests will need to be flexible and no guarantees can be given.

About Musekese Camp:

Musekese Camp has only four chalets taking a maximum of eight people, and with a minimum of two guides on hand at any time you are entirely assured of activities taken at your pace and interest.

Rooms at Musekese Camp are spacious and comfortable with all the necessities, including flushing loos and warm bucket showers under a mix of canvas and thatch. All our power requirements are drawn from a well configured solar set up, and whilst there are no charging facilities in the rooms, the main area has plenty of surplus power 24/7 to keep all your devices fully charged and drinks ice cold.

Two nights fully inclusive comprising all meals, snacks, hot drinks, drinking water, laundry and 2 activities per night stayed. The package excludes Park fees and bar drinks and transfers to and from the lodge.
