Silk Scarf from Madagascar
Winning bid
$90
About this item
Made from one of the rarest textiles in the world, this silk scarf from Madagascar was woven by an amazing women's cooperative. The silkworms involved are endemic to Madagascar and only grow on the few remaining patches of forest. Local silk weaving collectives like the one where this was produced are one of the only actions in the way of deforestation. Winning bidder can choose from a variety of designs.
