HUMMINGBIRD AND LEAVES - MARÍA HERNÁNDEZ

Inspired by Guatemalan culture and nature, I chose the hummingbird as a symbol, being that it is attracted to flowers. The hummingbird is a bird that has been valued and appreciated since our Mayan ancestors who considered it a messenger from the gods because of its ability to fly swiftly.  They were said to have carried good thoughts of men, representing freedom, good luck and would act as spiritual guides.
