Since 2020, Dana Cohen has explored alternative photographic processes, including Cyanotype, using an analog darkroom build in her home. She began a new body of collaborative work combining husband Robert Batey's camera-created images on alternative surfaces, including this goose-down pillow. Cohen layered images taken from the base of the Eiffel Tower in Paris to create an abstracted architectural design. Shades of rich blue cover the entire pillow, making it a one-of-a-kind treasure.
Dana Cohen studied architecture at the University of Tennessee Knoxville and lived in Philadelphia nearly ten years working as an architect and independent artist with husband Robert Batey. Cohen returned to East Tennessee in 1995 and co-founded Robert Batey Photography, specializing in architecture, real estate, products and portraiture. Since 2001 she has volunteered for Arrowmont, the United Way, Sevier County Arts Council, and was founding member of the Gatlinburg Fine Arts Festival. She exhibits regionally and was juried into the 20th Sevier County Biennial Juried Exhibition at Arrowmont. https://www.instagram.com/danak.x3/
