Rubbed oil pastel caught the texture of the hand-built frame in blue, contrasting with the painted hillside in white. Campbell uses charcoal to depict hillside drainage systems in stark black. Whimsical and unique, this mixed media painting will look good on any wall.
Lindsey Campbell grew up in Gatlinburg, Tennessee She attended and thoroughly enjoyed ArtReach programs at Arrowmont as a child. In 2019, she received her BFA at Watkins College of Art, Design, and Film in Nashville. Lindsey is currently the Annual Giving Coordinator at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts. She continues her practice in drawing and painting and is currently expanding her artistic practice in ceramics. Her paintings arrive through hybridization of historical events, myths, pop culture and/or personal memories. Similar to the evolution of history, myths, and personal memories through time, each painting's references become abstracted or mythologized through their retellings. https://www.instagram.com/l.k.campbell/
