Value: $250

Created during a two-week workshop, Wood/Design, Dixie Biggs and Steve Loar collaborated on this colorful, unique clock. The rough bowl, donated by Holland Bowl (MI), is made from turned beech wood. Steve covered the bowl with maple seed helicopter from his yard. Dixie applied bright orange acrylic paint, contrasting with vibrant purple clock hands. The clockface is free from numerals, but the twelve o'clock is indicated with a metallic, butterfly button. The minimal dial design contrasts with the textured and colorful surface, creating a fun, one-of-a-kind clock the adorn any wall.

Dixie Biggs lives in Gainesville, Florida and has been a studio woodturner/artist since 1989. Having a degree in Agriculture, and a love of the outdoors, much of her work incorporates a botanical theme. She is best known for her meticulously carved “leaf-wrapped” vessel. Biggs has demonstrated and taught her techniques at regional and national woodturning symposiums, woodturning clubs and craft schools around the U.S. and abroad. dixiebiggs.com
