About this item

Traversing the landscape since 2011, Dianna Snape has formed an intimate connection with Tanzania’s geography, culture and people. Snape is an Australian architectural and landscape photographer who has been producing urban and landscape aerial images for over a decade. For the exhibition ‘Lines & Tangles’ shehas carefully curated a series of aerial photographic abstractions that explore the 2850 square kilometre
Tarangire National Park in Tanzania’s Manyara Region.

During the dry season, the park attracts one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Tanzania and the river provides the only permanent water supply for
the animals. The unique trails and tracks created by migrating animals and the impressive baobab trees that stand proud in the topography are celebrated in this collection of intriguing images.
In these large-scale works the arid landscape and red clay formations of the Tarangire National Park are captured with a painterly openness that celebrates the beauty and spirit of this extraordinary place.
