Dear Friends, Colleagues and Business Partners,
Welcome to the first ever Bauersfeld Fine Art painting IPO (initial public offering - initial painting offering) until 17 December 2023 at 23:00 CET.
This is the first time I have officially offered my paintings up for public sale*. As a result, I am thinking of it like an IPO. Your purchase of one of these works of art is an investment in both the present and future of my painting. I have been painting in oil since the age of 7 and have always had every intention of painting until I die, gradually increasing my output and evolving my style year-on-year.
All works are one-of-a-kind complete originals made by my own hand.
These works are akin to my children, and it pains me to have to let them go but I understand, after many, many years of dragging my feet, that it is time to take myself to the market.
Like purchasing a share on the stock exchange, your ownership of one of my works will entitle you to special privileges yearly, including VIP invites to live shows in Prague and possibly, in time, exhibitions abroad, as well as discounts on my soon to be yearly auction, and discounts on commissions.
Unlike a share in a company, which is a mere piece of paper, you will be the owner of a beautiful, original work of art and all the fruits that come with being my patron.

*I have sold a few dozen paintings before, but only by special request and over time have given away far more as gifts or had paintings stolen from exhibitions than I have sold.

Auction terms and conditions
All sales are plus shipping, which I will bill seperately depending on the method and timing you prefer.
In the event you would like something specific written on the back of the canvas, a dedication, etc., please let me know by email.
I would like to ask buyer's permission to keep your contact details for future reference in the event I put on larger scale exhibitions featuring older work. I will only ever use this information as a way to contact you in the event of an exhibition at the curator's request to see if you would be willing to loan the painting for the exhibition or allow it to be used in the catalogue.
Please also let me know if you would like to receive information about upcoming exhibitions in Prague and abroad.
As this is largely an experiment, depending on how well it works, my tentative plan is to hold 1-2 exhibitions yearly and use this format to sell the exhibited work. This affords me the opportunity to continue to show in alternative spaces, ensure the exhibitions are site specific and avoid, as much as possible, local gallery culture.
