Mabel Ibekwe, born in Nigeria is a digital creative, her works mainly focuses on portrait and abstract art. Mabel is passionate about commemorating her heritage and representation. Her work is influenced by her Afrocentric background, as a self-taught digital artist her work focuses on the explores ideas such as identity, femineity, and culture. In her works, bright colours, luminosity and the nature of the facial form serve as the perfect motifs for my exploration and intent, which is to create artworks that inspire, uplift and empower. 

A Note from WJN:

The artist has generously donated this piece to our Art 4 Healing Auction, helping us to raise funds for Adult Mentoring and Youth Mentoring Programs, and ‘Healing from Within’ - a Youth creativity program that supports incarcerated young women and those ‘at risk’ in our community. Women’s Justice Network thanks the artists for their involvement.
