We’ve been waffling – hard. In the end, we decided to let Moonwray go and cross our fingers that Awray throws another heifer next year. I don’t think Awray has produced a calf we haven’t loved; she has had an excellent breeding career. She’s a solid cow, with excellent feet. However, her udder could use some refining as she ages, but her calves get on by themselves, and come in big in the fall. We expect Moonwray to follow in her dam’s footsteps in terms of capacity, good feet and the sweetest temperament.
