Welding Warbird

The 2021 Welding for Warbirds logo was the inspiration behind this redention of W7 Phoenix rising from the ashes. The students added the vibrant colors to evoke the imagine of the mythical bird being reborn.

Through creating this project I learned a lot about myself and my love for the trade. I created this sculpture with a new student and I learned that teaching others is enjoyable. This opportunity helped me discover a passion for teaching others how to build unimaginable things from pieces of scrap.

Colton chose me to help with the bird sculpture. So, I did what I could and learned a lot from Colton, but I can’t really take credit. It was all Colton. It was very satisfying to see the sculpture slowly take shape over time and I enjoyed helping out.
