Piston Table

Using an aircraft hydraulic actuator and engine pistons, these students built this accent table. Although not pictured, table includes glass top.

I came to BOCES two years ago expecting to learn how to weld and machine. But as a second-year student, I got to work on a sculpture project for the warplane museum. We went to the museum as a class and that’s where I saw the parts to build the table. Mr. Olson liked the table idea and thought others would like it, too. Overall, this project was interesting and it helped me develop new skills and techniques based on the materials I used.
