This painting was created in response to a one-month residency I undertook on King Island at the end of 2021. I was struck by the rough weather, leaning tea trees and raw landscape of the island during my stay. I made work about my time there both on the island and once back on mainland Tasmania. I had a truly wonderful experience, and formed a connection to the place that I still feel today.
