Night-time trip to Badger Weir (Vic) to look for nocturnal animals with nature writer Harry Saddler
About this item
Nature writer Harry Saddler will take you and a small group of friends on a night-time trip to Badger Weir, in the Yarra Ranges National Park near Healesville, to look for nocturnal animals.
Badger Weir is a renowned location for greater gliders - the world's largest gliding marsupial - and is also home to yellow-bellied gliders, Krefft's (aka sugar) gliders, ringtail possums, brushtail possums, wombats, wallabies, etc, any of which may be seen or heard on any given night. Harry will either meet you at the entrance to Badger Weir if you have your own car, or can pick you up from Eltham train station if you prefer.
Please note that some walking (slow, gentle) will be required. All equipment needed to see animals (torches, binoculars) will be provided.
Harry Saddler is the author of The Eastern Curlew, Questions Raised by Quolls, and A Clear Flowing Yarra.
