About this item

No Broken Parts is a hand-carved work by local artist Aaron Cannon (Carving Back to Life), using Australian ethically obtained timber and salvaged materials.

Aaron shares the story behind this artwork:

The sculpture brings together two distinct timbers: highly figured Tasmanian Blackwood (female) and figured Cooba (male), reflecting two separate lives and experiences choosing to meet as one. Both forms are mounted on a driftwood base—symbolising the marks of the past: imperfections, victories, disappointments, and the lived experience that becomes a shared foundation. The female form presents a straighter outer edge to the world, while the inner curve softens into a heart—guarded tenderness and a desire for love and peace. The male form is rounded and smooth outwardly, with a shadowed inner face that speaks to the parts of self revealed only through trust. Together, No Broken Parts is about surrender, intimacy, and becoming whole. Artist: Carving Back to Life is the healing work of local artist Aaron Cannon. Using Australian ethically sourced timber and salvaged materials, Aaron creates one-of-a-kind pieces that transform rough beginnings into something meaningful. Each work is part story and part recovery—an expression of resilience, connection, and renewal. In Aaron’s words: “I’m carving my way out of my own head.”

The artwork dimensions are approximately 47cm x 38cm
