'Days Like These is an original seascape inspired by the Cape Byron walking track up to the lighthouse in Byron Bay, NSW. Australian native banksias line the landscape, like a natural frame to the blues and greens of the ocean below. You never know what you will see along that walk. I have seen whales, dolphins, koalas, goannas, stingrays, bush turkeys, wallabies and many different types of birds. But it's always the banksias that linger in my mind. We all have that favourite place, the place we go to seek solitude and the beauty of nature. This is mine.' - Suzanne

Suzanne Barrett is a contemporary coastal artist based in Brisbane, QLD. Her work is inspired by the natural environment and the quiet moments found between water, sky, and shoreline. 

With a Bachelor of Fine Art and a background in interdisciplinary practice, Suzanne creates seascapes that go beyond what we see on the surface. Her paintings explore memory, place, and the emotional connection we have to the landscape. 
For Suzanne, painting is about capturing how the bayside environment feels, not just how it looks.
