Barbara McLean says, “I love the development and abstract design when painting and making something beautiful. I enjoy creating with colour and experiencing how the flow of acrylics or water-colours blend together to make a piece of art. Oil and cold wax paintings are incredible with their depth of colour and beauty.”

Barbara is a self-taught artist, but has done many workshops with professional artists over the past 40 years and has participated in numerous online courses. She is a member of several artists groups which include: the Stirling group of 11, the Driven to Abstraction Art Group, the Tweed and Area Art Club, and the Belleville Art Association.

Since retiring in 2016, Barbara has been working to expand her knowledge of different media. Her recent works are in Acrylic, Acrylic Flow Art, Watercolour, Oil, Oil and Cold Wax and Mixed Media. She plans to experiment with other media in the near future. Her style is abstract and impressionistic. 

She also says, “My goal is to inspire those who see my work to discover beauty in unusual places and encourage them to paint…”
