W.H. Bartlett (1809-1854)

William Henry Bartlett was a British artist renowned for his engravings. He became interested in art while apprenticed to an architect, and would study drawings and make sketches of ruined buildings. Later he became interested in drawing landscapes, then started watercolour painting, then steel engraving. He travelled extensively to discover different landscapes and scenery. His works are of locations around the world, including in the Middle East, Europe, the United States and Canada. His prints became very popular and are respected by collectors due to their historical value.
