----

Born in Lugano, Switzerland in 1945, artist Felix Borsari completed a diploma in graphic design at Kunstgewerbe Scule, Biel in 1964 and migrated to Australia in 1967. In Melbourne he worked as a graphic designer and art director with advertising agencies and as a lecturer in typography at RMIT.
In 1975 he moved to the rural outskirts of the Eltham Shire, in Melbourne’s near north-east hills country. Here Felix saw his new bushland surroundings through fresh eyes and captured his observations in art works of various mediums, often making screen print impressions of them.
Felix’s interest in the natural environment led him to discover a treasure trove of wildflowers in the Nillumbik Shire region of Victoria. He held annual springtime wildflower walks there, paper-framing and labelling the wildflower patches to create a natural gallery. This unique intervention resulted in the now permanent ‘Felix Borsari Wildflower Walk’ nature reserve.
Among Nillumbik Shire Art Collection recent acquisitions of Felix Borsari art, are four serigraphs and six oil pastels, as well as over 40 of the artist’s silk screen poster artworks. One of the few remaining original prints from the Collection’s iconic serigraph series, ‘Manna Gum Kangaroo Ground 1986’, number 16 of 25 limited edition, hand-signed by the artist, will be donated to the Art With Heart auction for Myasthenia Alliance Australia.
