About the artist:

Melbourne based artist and educator Joseph Blair works across photography, moving image and mixed media. His practice engages archives, technology and surveillance to study how images persist and are reorganised between document and speculation.

This work utilises the control functions of an unsecured IP surveillance camera, redirecting the lens from subject to sky over several hours. Questioning the legitimacy of private surveillance in public space, the work considers what deserves attention under continuous observation and reflects on the pervasive effects of constant watching.
