About the Artist
Heather Dale is a watercolour artist and illustrator whose work celebrates the beauty of nature and wildlife. Inspired by her surroundings on Tamborine Mountain, she creates delicate, expressive paintings and a popular range of Australian wildlife cards called ‘PATCHWORKDOG,’ reflecting her deep connection to the flora and fauna around her.
Originally from the south of England, Heather grew up on a small farm where her love of wildlife first took root. After a career in illustration, publishing greeting cards, illustrating children’s books, and exhibiting her work, she relocated to Australia in 2003, drawn to the lush landscapes and abundant wildlife that continue to inspire her creativity today.
Heather now focuses on teaching watercolour painting to beginners. Her classes guide students through painting loose florals and landscapes, exploring new techniques, and discovering their own creative voice. Through her teaching, Heather shares her passion for art and nature, encouraging others to nurture their creativity and celebrate the world around them.
