About the artist:
Gabrielle Hall-Lomax’s practice centres on analogue photography and darkroom printing. Through research, collaboration, and performance, she examines how social structures shape women’s experiences and reimagines the narratives that surround them.
Her work has featured in Der Greif’s 16th issue, Common Love, curated by Shirin Neshat (2023). She was a Creative Resident at the Centre for Contemporary Photography (2024), a finalist in the Palm Photo Prize, and presented her solo exhibition Unbodied at Blindside Gallery. In 2025, she exhibited Tactical Bodies, a collaborative project with photographer Meg De Young, at Hillvale Gallery.
Gabrielle holds a Master of Arts and Cultural Management from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) from RMIT University. www.gabriellehall-lomax.com
