About this item

Very hard to find - limited edition - complete set in custom made suitcase, with model D viewer, 200 reels, 2 books with informational texts, a brush, a transformer.

Cogswell did not only write the books, but performed all the stereoscopic photography also. Awesome close-up and macro 3D pictures.

The reels were produced in a limited series of 1.000. This is a numbered set, 0839.

Dating 1959.

This was an expensive set a the time of publication. Owing to a letter to Harry zur Kleinsmiede, from the Institute for Applied Dental Learning, dating 1984. In 1984 just 6 of the reel sets (200 different reels each) were left to offer. The Institute was offering a reel set with zeroxed copy of the narration (so no suitcase, viewer and books) at 2.000 dollars. A huge amount back then. See the photo of the letter. I agree with the last sentence in the letter: 'The world doesn't really know or appreciate the time and talent that was required to make this presentation.'

As pictured and described in Harry's VM-book, Volume 3.

Everything is in good condition. Great looking model D viewer. Reels are fine also.

The handle of the suitcase has let loose, it is dryed out but can possibly be repaired.

There are 3 wooden blocks inside the suitcase, to lock the reels in place when carrying the suitcase around. One block is missing, and there is a piece of carton in its place that does the trick.

I have only once seen a set like this for sale (and it was this one) and there is no set like this on offer anywhere else.

The original letter from the Institute to Harry is included in this sale.
