Throughout history, women’s voices have been consistently ignored, drowned out, and in many cases, erased altogether. Women are often told to make themselves heard. However, the problem is not that women need to “speak up” or “raise their voices” (they have always been present), but rather that their voices aren’t being listened to. These retrofuturist parabolic dishes reflect and amplify voices, inviting the listener to actively participate, to be quiet and position themselves as the receiver, to hear even the quietest voice.
