I have left this work untitled, as I do not want viewers to be influenced before deciding on the expression on the skeleton’s face. To me, the expression and posture always reminds me of the poetry and teachings of my favourite Japanese Zen Master, Ikkyu (1394-1481). Ikkyu called himself “Crazy Cloud” (which coincidentally was a name I came up with for myself during a Bipolar episode in my 20s- before learning about Ikkyu!). One of my favourite lines, is: “If at the end of our journey there is no final resting place, then we need not fear losing our Way”.
