Ariel Rowan | Creativity | 20x20cm | Acrylic on Canvas
This work began as a smaller copy of a larger work that I completed in 2024. That work was my reaction to the concept of the “Still Life” in Art: objects on a surface. When I revisited the concept this year with this work, I realised that a painting itself can act as a still life of the act of creativity.
I am also happy with this painting as I feel it effectively utilises an Acrylic paint I have been experimenting with, called “Musou Black”. This paint was created by a company in Japan and made available as an alternative to Vantablack. Vantablack, known as the “blackest black”, was copyrighted by an Artist in Europe. Musou Black is a marvellous alternative (in my opinion)- especially in terms it’s texture once dried.
