This complex sculpture incorporated many individuals within the glass program at UTA. In light of the ongoing pandemic, the artist offered her colleagues an opportunity to think of something sweet, and requested that each student sculpt a piece of candy to add to the larger cotton candy form. The cotton candy was created by making a mold, and then vlowing hot glas into the form. Textures were acheived by mixing non-traditional glass materials within the glass, prmoting bubbles and swirls. The cotton candy was then picked back up while it was hot, in order to hot attach each individual piece of candy, and the long white cone, was attached cold, and held in place by tension. The work includes a number of particularly complex and technical feats, and brings a bit of sweetness in this darker time.
