Mariana Shafro's "KARAYA" series honors Ukrainian hero Vadim Voroshilov, a pilot who bravely defended his homeland during Russia's invasion.

"Vadim Voroshilov shot down 5 Iranian kamikaze drones Shahed-136 and two cruise missiles. His plane got hit by debris, but he bravely steered it away from people before it crashed. Vadim managed to escape by ejecting from the plane. After that, he walked 8 km to a nearby town and found shelter with refugees from Ukraine's occupied area."

Mariana Shafro, а Ukrainian photographer and director, she graduated from the New York Film Academy in 2009. With over 15 years of experience, Mariana's work has graced the pages of esteemed magazines worldwide, including Vogue, Forbes, Elle, Cosmopolitan, L'Officiel, and Life, to name a few.
