Artist Bio
Rasika de Silva (b. 1967) is a Sri Lankan artist renowned for his vibrant exploration of the interplay between nature, humanity, and destruction. Using a striking palette that evokes the island’s lush vegetation, de Silva employs cubist and surrealist styles to critique capitalist exploitation, power dynamics, and gender issues. His works, created in oil and acrylic, offer a critical reflection on the impact of human greed on the environment. De Silva, a graduate of Sharadha Kala Nikethanaya in Colombo, has exhibited extensively in solo and group shows, including at Paradise Road Galleries.
