Artist Bio
Pathum Gamage (b. 1987) is a visual artist from Galle, Sri Lanka, known for his evocative exploration of nostalgia and tranquility through art. His work often features colonial-era railway stations as metaphors for a slower, more reflective past. Gamage employs unconventional materials like tea bags and gauze, creating meditative compositions that invite viewers to contemplate transience. He also creates abstract using vivid, sweeping brushstrokes and layered paint to capture the frenetic energy of contemporary life.
Gamage has a BFA from Vibhavi Academy of Fine Arts Colombo (2012). The artist has presented previously at group exhibitions which include Anguru, Lionel Wendt Gallery (2010), Truth to Truth, JDA Perera Gallery (2016), and Contemporary Artists Meeting Point, Lionel Wendt Gallery (2016).
