Artist Bio

Koralegedara Pushpakumara (b. 1968, Gampola, Kandy) earned his BFA in Painting from the Institute of Aesthetic Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, in 1997, and a diploma in Archaeology in 2003 from the same institution. Pushpakumara was part of the No Order Group established in 1990’s and is one of the early artists of the ‘90’s Trend.’ His acclaimed 'Goodwill Hardware' series, developed in the post-war era, has been showcased at Theertha Red Dot Gallery, Colombo Art Biennale, and Hempel Galleries. He is also a core member and director of Theertha International Artists Collective, an initiative dedicated to promoting contemporary art in Sri Lanka. Pushpakumara has exhibited widely in Sri Lanka and participated in international workshops and events in India, Sweden, Pakistan, and the Netherlands.
