Artist Bio
C Rathnayake's oeuvre has been defined by paintings that evoke a sense of calmness and serenity. Rathnayake is a multidisciplinary artist who experiments with a range of medium, and the interplay of texture and colours to create an aesthetic that is an extraordinary visual representation of pattern, repetition and rhythm. J C Rathnayake was born in the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka, and has graduated with an MFA in Printmaking from the University of Visual and Performing Arts in Colombo.
