Desert X Trip (March 22-24, 2023)
Join this exclusive Aspen Art Museum Board and National Council trip to Desert X 2023! Taking place every two years since 2017, Desert X commissions site-specific installations across the stunning desert landscape of California.
The 2023 edition, curated by returning Desert X Artistic Director Neville Wakefield and Co-curator Diana Campbell, is much anticipated. While participating artists have yet to be announced, Desert X never disappoints! You can find information on previous editions here: Desert X
The trip includes 5-star hotel accommodations at the Parker Palm Springs, ground transportation, meals, guides, entrance fees, and staff & guest participation.
We will make our base in Palm Springs, and from here, we will experience the best of Desert X in addition to:
- A private visit of the Palm Springs Art Museum in the company of Director Adam Lerner and artist Phillip K Smith III
- Sunset cocktails at the Collection of Mihail Lari & Scott Murray
- Lunch at Andrea Zittell's High Desert Test Sites at AZ West, in the company of the artist
- Rachel Whiteread's Twin Cabins in the company of collector and art book publisher Jerry Sohn
- A studio visit with local artist Harrison Fraley
- Private collection visit at the home of Marilyn Loesberg
- Dinner at Michelin mentioned Workshop Kitchen with local guests
- Art at Tamarisk in the company of Susan Goodman, the program's founder, and patron
- Lunch at the home of AAM Board Members Marcy and Leo Edelstein
- A tour of Annenberg's Sunnylands Gardens and Historic Estate
- Two nights at the Parker Palm Springs
