within Sayeda Nafisa’s sanctuary, a calm and meditative energy washes over youlike nothing I have ever felt before. A revered member of Ahl al-Bayt, Sayeda Nafisa was an Islamic scholar remembered as the Jewel of Knowledge. Surrounded by people who sought her wisdom and guidance, she often needed space and time for herself-to find peace in solitude. To retreat from the constant flow of visitors, Sayeda Nafisa would seek seclusion in her small, modest sanctuary-a concave-shaped mihrab built in the desert (now part of the City of the Dead), facing the qibla. Here, she could perform her prayers and rituals in tranquility. Today, her sanctuary remains a humble, hidden nook for those who seek their own moments of solitary meditation. It is essential to carve out time and space for quiet reflection, each of us finding comfort in our own way, in our own private nooks. At The Nook, in collaboration with Zagh, we designed a rosary that offers a simple way to disengage from the constant demands of daily life. A tool for quiet moments, it serves as a gentle reminder to pause, reflect, and reconnect.
