This special auction presents a collection of artworks donated to the West Pittwater Rural Fire Brigade from the home of Susan Duncan and Bob Story.
The works form a poignant legacy from Susan and Bob, offering a quiet window into lives deeply connected to Pittwater—its people, its landscape and its natural environment.
Collected over time, the artworks reflect a way of living shaped by place, creativity and care for community. All proceeds from the auction will go directly towards supporting the West Pittwater Rural Fire Brigade, helping fund essential equipment and practical facilities that strengthen the brigade’s firefighting and community-support efforts for the people of Pittwater.
This is an opportunity to acquire a meaningful artwork, while directly supporting the volunteers who protect this unique place and those who call it home.
Live Auction
A number of items will be auctioned live at the Elvina Bay Fire Shed on Saturday 7 March, with bidder registration from 3.15pm and the auction commencing at 3.30pm. Due to time constraints, only a limited number of works have been selected for live auction.
These items are clearly marked in the listing by an asterisk. Online bidding for these works will close prior to the live auction, with the highest online bid carried forward as the opening bid on the day.
Once the live auction commences, bidding will continue in person only.
Auction terms and conditions
Purpose of the Auction
100% of proceeds from this auction will be donated to the West Pittwater Rural Fire Brigade and used to support equipment purchases and the ongoing costs associated with operating the brigade.
The artworks in this auction have been generously donated from the home of Susan Duncan and Bob Story, with the intention of supporting the brigade and the wider community it serves.
Provenance and Condition
All artworks offered in this auction are from the home of Susan Duncan and Bob Story. The works are not new and have been held in a private residential setting.
Where artworks are presented with frames and/or glass, these are also second-hand and may show signs of age, wear or handling consistent with normal use. No restoration or replacement has been undertaken unless expressly stated.
Images displayed on the auction website are intended to be visually accurate representations of the artworks, including their physical condition. Prospective bidders are encouraged to review images carefully before placing a bid.
Sale Condition
All artworks are sold “as is”.
No warranties, guarantees or representations are made regarding condition, longevity, framing, materials or suitability for any particular purpose. By placing a bid, buyers acknowledge and accept the condition of the work in its current state.
Collection and Delivery
All artworks must be collected in person.
Collection will be arranged from either Elvina Bay or Church Point, depending on location and timing.
Please note that delivery, freight or postage is not provided as part of this auction.
Successful bidders are responsible for organising collection at the agreed location and time.
