Robyn Harman studied fine art and education in Hobart before embarking on a long career as an Art and Photography teacher in Tasmania. Her focus over the last 10 years has been on developing her own art practice. She has been a finalist in several art prizes including three times in the Glover Prize, a two-time finalist in The Bay of Fires Art Prize and a finalist in the Tidal Art Award. She has had a number of solo shows as well as group exhibitions.
Robyn has had a life-long passion for sailing in coastal areas of Tasmania and this has been the inspiration behind her work. Maritime themes and motifs have dominated her work and in particular coastal landforms, islands and rocky outcrops.
