Tasmania is an archipelago of 334 islands that make up its structure. Wherever one turns in this magic place, there is sea. It is inescapable. I cry salt tears and the salt of the ocean is in my blood and in the blood of all Tasmanian people who call it home. Upon her shores, where the ocean and land meet, is a place of change, an ecological system of elements shaping design that is forever changing. This work is one such creation, a myriad of islands formed by elements on the East Coast, and hand stitched to represent Tasmania and her saltwater people who live on her shores.
