John Lendis BA Hons. MA.

An internationally renowned painter with a very distinctive and enigmatic style, sometimes reminiscent of the Pre-Raphaelites, sometimes with a hint of Modigliani , always including an element of mystery and mythology in his oil paintings.

John grew up in Nottingham and completed a diploma in textile design at the Nottingham College of Art and Design before moving to Tasmania in the early 1980s where he completed a BFA (Hons) and Master of Fine Arts at the University of Tasmania’s School of Art. Returning to the UK he currently works from his home based studio in Moreton in the Marsh in the Cotswolds.

With many exhibitions in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and the US, John Lendis continues to exhibit internationally and has work in public and private collections.
He has recently released limited, signed, editions of his latest paintings for the first time thanks to Gordon of Skylight Publishing who more than matched John's expectations of excellence in the Giclée reproduction of his large scale oil paintings.
