Year 4 Girls - Charlottes Web
About this item
Year 4 artworks centre around the literature the student’s have studied this year, "Charlottes Web" and "Danny the Champion of the World".
The pieces, were inspired by multimedia artist Julie Wolfe and feature techniques associated with decoupage and collage.
Pages from each of the books were given to the students, and a word was then chosen from each of these pages to act as inspiration for the artwork. It was from these words that the students then created colourful symbols, which make up the artworks. These symbols reflect a moment in the story and when placed together (in chronological order) spark memories, which in turn tell the tale. Each tile is finished with an epoxy resin giving it a shiny and luxurious finish.
Sold in pairs, the Danny the Champion piece features the skills of the male students and Charlottes Web was the creative command of the female students.
These pieces are conversation starters, as well as memory boxes of the student’s year and learning. Beautifully framed and featuring a stunning array of colours they are sure to add style and interest to any interior space.
