Sumatran Elephant

Sumatran elephants feed on a variety of plants and deposit seeds wherever they go, contributing to a healthy forest ecosystem. They also share their lush forest habitat with several other endangered species, such as the Sumatran rhino, tiger, and orangutan, and countless other species that all benefit from an elephant population that thrives in a healthy habitat.

This papier-mâché art piece was carefully crafted by Silk Laundry Brisbane Store Manger Carla Binotto, using recycled paper from old Silk Laundry magazines and chicken wire.

When Katie Kolodinski came up with the Endangered Species capsule she wanted to spread awareness about some of the critically endangered animals and plants living in our ecosystem. With these pieces, we want to raise awareness that the loss of a species also points to bigger issues within our interconnected ecosystems. By purchasing this item, understand that 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Fauna and Flora International, a charity dedicated to saving endangered wildlife.
