About this item

Help us fund updates to one of our exhibits at the Barrier Island Center (BIC)! The BIC on the Archie Carr Refuge in Melbourne Beach Florida, provides educational opportunities to 30,000 visitors each year on one of the number one beaches in the world for loggerhead nesting and a globally significant beach for green turtles and leatherbacks. The exhibits were created in 2008 and are in need of updates and repairs to continue to keep residents and visitors informed about the current status of sea turtle habitat in the region. Our current needs include a 12.9" iPad Pro with a mounted and locked protective case. With this new equipment, the BIC staff will update the Subtidal Lagoon exhibit to be more interactive with new touch screen features and updated educational videos which will address the decline of seagrass and current habitat restoration efforts in the Indian River Lagoon estuary, adjacent to the Archie Carr Refuge. For this Fund-A-Need, the bid you place is a PLEDGE to donate. OR you can press the BUY IT NOW button to pay for the item in full. Thanks for your support!
