Katie Barron is a Tasmania based artist working primarily in oils. Her practice consists of creating oil paintings to explore concepts of nostalgia and the spaces between objective and subjective reality. In 2019 she received the Lamphouse Endowment for the Arts: Emerging Artist Bursary and was selected for the RISE Emerging Artist Program at artsPlace in Canmore, Alberta. She was artist in residence at the Ayatana Artists Research Program in October of 2019 and completed the RBC Emerging Visual Artist Program at Arts Commons in Calgary, Alberta.
