About this item

Established in 1922, West Byfleet Golf Club boasts a course originally crafted by Cuthbert Butchart and later transformed by the esteemed architect John Abercromby, who also designed iconic courses such as The Addington, Coombe Hill, and Knole Park.
Golf in West Byfleet began in 1906 as Bleakdown Golf Club, when pioneering developer and landowner – Hugh Locke King – gave the land over for golf following the success of his first golf course close by at New Zealand. In 1922, the club changed name and ever since has been known as West Byfleet, and we are proud of our warm, inclusive community.
Supporting charity is a core value at West Byfleet; in 2024, we are thrilled to partner with HomeStart – Runnymede & Woking. Contributing to our local community remains a vital and cherished tradition here at the club.
