I’m currently doing an MFA at RMIT, focusing on drawing and painting.
There are two donated works, both from a series of drawings I did on the iPad whilst in hotel quarantine last July. Each day I set myself the task of drawing something observed from our Holiday Inn room overlooking Flinders Lane.
I was enviously watching people enjoying the sunshine outside, when this guy shuffled past. He looked quite defeated. His plastic bags might’ve been groceries, or they could’ve been his belongings. Hard to say. But he left a distinct impression on me. Suddenly l wasn’t so envious anymore.
